also add fascism in with those 4 since the title would be too long to add that many. I just want to see what everyone thinks on this subject. Which works the best and how do they all work and what do they provide us. I will share my opinions after some people post.

In THEORY, Communism works best. Everybody being equal, no worries of unfairity or public complaints of taxes regarding different income. However, somebody always decides ''Oh, everyone's equal but I'm in charge'', destroying any hope that Communism could work. I would say Capitalism but only because that's the biggest influence on me at the moment.

You have to look at a lot of things when deciding this. Which is the most easily corruptable? Which one allows people to have plenty of freedom and protection from tyranny and crime? Which one is able to support itself financially? ect, ect.

Out of those four I'm torn between socialism and capitalism. Communism and anarchy don't work. We see that from history. The Soviet Union and Somalia being two examples. Socialism and Capitalism aren't without their faults of course. But at least they allow for democracy, fair trading, liberty, justice and general civil rights.

I have never read anarchist literature so I feel unfit to comment. Noam Chomsky clearly knows a lot about the world and is an anarchist, which is why I don't rule it out.

I have read little of Marx's literature, and have read marxist literature.
I guess I might be a marxist. Like many marxists though any socialism makes me happy.

I would definitely say I don't believe free market capitalism is good, since you're trusting people who are typically greedy/money-obsessed to act in the interests of the majority. It doesn't happen, and therefore is nowhere near being democracy.

I find it funny/annoying how many choose to equate capitalism to democracy, and socialism is sometimes described as the opposite of democracy, even if the socialist government came about by elections which were fairer/more representative of every individual person(higher turnouts and less corporate funding) than the elections of some of the leading free market capitalism-endorsing nations.

That made me LOL. In a perfect hypothetical world they may allow for those things but in the real world, that's not easy to come across.

Oh god...."liberty", "justice"....those words are thrown around way too much

I wouldn't say capitalism as the US wants it(the world leaders of capitalism these days I think it's fair to say) allows for fair trading (why do you think Fair Trade was set up, and have a lot more they still want to do?), and as for general civil rights I don't particularly think that civil rights are intact when in some countries the CEO of the company you work for sends death squads after you for joining a trade union and campaigning for your rights as a worker, or when HUD knocks down low income housing to make way for private higher income housing, leaving people homeless.

Well Communism, when done right, is the best. China have a communist/capitalist hybrid system which is probably the best way of doing things when done right.

I think that might be an over simplification of China's government. Plus they don't treat the people very well at all. There's practically no civil rights over there. People are paid bugger all.

Well China may have a very high GDP and will soon be the highest but China isn't exactly the best place to go to for work. The people there on average make not alot of money and have little rights compared to other parts of the world.

Ok now I will speak my opinion.

Ok let's start off with anarchism. A pure anarchism will never work. It is shown when you live in a place with no rules or order people don't feel safe where they are at. Also a guy will take over an anarchism area and will make it into something else most of the time. Anarchism is basically the most basic type of living and it will go above it no matter what.

Communism doesn't work either. It has failed many times to be honest. A guy has always rule very harshly in this type of gov and it is easily the most corruptible one.

Fascism doesn't work for a very long time because the people always feel the leader has too much power and ends up over throwing the gov.

Socialism and Capitalism has their faults but they do work. I am going to talk about this later.

You say it has been tried many times. Well socialism is a step to communism(feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism). Socialism has been tried many times and been a failure in the Eastern hemisphere largely(although recent research shows many people in the former soviet nations feel they were better off or just as well off before the fall of the soviet union (http://www.pewglobal.org/2011/12/05/confidence-in-democracy-and-capitalism-wanes-in-former-soviet-union/).
In the western hemisphere socialism has been reasonably successful, including under people who call themselves communists of some kind (Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Chile at the very least). I'd argue the only reason there hasn't been more success is because the US constantly interfered, by pumping money into opposition press, giving money to opposition candidates if it was an electoral system, funding opposition rebels, or cutting off trade with the nation and encouraging/coercing other countries to do the same.

Communism is by far the most overrated. The USSR collapsed, various eastern European communist countries became capitalist, Cuba is a dump, North Korea is a dump, Vietnam is a dump, Laos is a dump. China thrives on capitalist ideas.

There are even some countries where the ruling party is communist, yet the constitution is kept capitalist. Look at Cyprus and some South American countries.

Communism is diffrent to Socialism, just so you know. Also, Cuba has suffered somewhat economically because of the sanctions the US placed on it.

Eitherway, Socialism focuses more on government ownership of businesses, while Capitalism focuses on private ownership, the extreams of either can be bad if you want a strong economy in a majority Capitalist world, ideally, you would want a mix of both.

The main problem with Capitalism in an extream case is that it puts profit before people, while Socialism, in an extream and perfect form, puts people before profit, however it would require all of the major economies to use this sort of system for it to work on a global scale.

Free heathcare/education is a state owned business, for an example of Capitalist countries that use Socialist elements.

Things are more complex, I'm sure and I don't fully know everything about either of these systems but no country is run pure Capitalist or pure Socialist I don't believe anyway.

Vietnam is not a dump. I don't know what gave you that impression but it's actually an amazingly beautiful, serene and culturally rich country. I do agree with you that communism doesn't work though. As much as I like the idea of everyone being equal, the truth is we're not and a good government caters for that.

Hey Vietnam isn't a dump at all. In fact it is a very nice country in the world. It is doing fine. Now here is what I think on this subject. All of these systems are not perfect at all. Now I am going to talk about capitalism.

A pure capitalism society does not work in my opinion. It seems to put money before everything really and it can really mess up things for the people.

A pure socialist society does not work as well. The countries that are 100 percent socialist seem to be not doing to well. Some socialist ideas like universal health care do work well but other ideas do not seem to work well at all. A mix system works the best in my opinion. Not just any mix but a ideal mix.
